Abstract
To report a case of Dominant Cystoid Macular Dystrophy
[DCMD] a curious case diagnosed as an incidental finding.
A 17 Year Male presented with Diminution of vision in [BE] since
childhood.History of similar complaints in his paternal grand father.
No history of any systemic comorbidities. [BE] Anterior segment was
Normal. [BE] Fundus shows Honey comb appearance. [BE] OCT shows
altered foveal contour with sub foveal cystic spaces. [BE] Fundus Auto
Flourescence shows Hypoflourescence surrounded by
Hyperflourescent ring at macula. [BE] ERG was Abnormal.
This case was provisionally diagnosed as [BE] Dominant Cystoid
Macular Dystrophy [DCMD] and prescribed Dorzolamide
Eye drops 2 times per day for one month. Advised review
after one month. CONCLUSION : Early diagnosis, prompt treatment and regular long term follow
up helps in halting the disease progression and visual impairment.
