Abstract

Year 2020 was expected to be a year of celebration in field of Ophthalmology as it would have marked the completion of VISION 2020 WHO program carried out across the world to provide affordable eye care and curb preventable blindness. Eye care has been drastically hit since the pandemics began as it raised constant fear in the mindset of the people of contracting the virus during the course of hospital visit. This has lead to a toll on the relatively non-emergency branches like ophthalmology especially with regards to elective procedures. Many patients have been lost to follow up. The purpose of the study is to highlight the patient’s experience in the changed paradigm since the start of COVID-19 pandemic, to gauge the common eye problems experienced by patients, to understand the changing experience of patients with regards eye care and to assess patient’s perspectives with regards eye care at tertiary hospitals designated for COVID care.
