Abstract
To demonstrate the Surgical Technique of Single Prick Fluid Gas Exchange in Post-vitrectomy patients in OPD setting for management of Dispersed Vitreous Hemorrhage.
METHOD :
For patients who underwent vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage for various indications with BSS tamponade & have developed Re-bleed post Surgery.
The one way single prick fluid gas exchange procedure involved application of a 0.22 microns PES Syringe Filter, 5cc syringe and a 26G needle to exchange 4-4.5cc of fluid with patient in sitting position.
CONCLUSION :
One way Fluid Gas Exchange is a minimally invasive and a cost effective bedside technique which can effectively exchange the vitreous hemorrhage and improve the visual acuity of patients which develop vitreous re-hemorrhage post vitrectomy without any complications.
