Abstract

54-year-old male presented with DOV OD (BCVA 2/60) since 2 weeks. IOP OD was 1 mm of Hg. OD fundus showed bullous retinal detachment involving the macula with choroidal detachment. OS fundus showed lattice degeneration in superior periphery. SD OCT showed subretinal fluid with choroidal fold OD. Patient underwent 25-g MIVS, choroidals were drained, retina settled, endolaser done and silicon oil tamponade used.

On follow up visit retina was settled and choroidal detachment had resolved. Patient developed recurrent PVR 2 months after surgery with recurrent inferior RD. Patient underwent revitrectomy, membrane peeling under silicon oil, silicon oil removal, air fluid exchange, Re-silicon oil injection.

On follow up visit BCVA OD was 6/24P and retina was settled. Recurrent RD can be managed efficiently under silicon oil which works as the third hand and provides countertraction facilitating membrane peeling.
