Abstract
This surgical video demonstrates a novel, unique yet very simplified approach to MANUAL SMALL INCISION CATARACT SURGERY (MSICS).
No Bridle suture was taken. Eye was under peribulbar block. Bipolar cautery was not needed. Incision and Tunnel formation was with the help of 2.8 mm keratome blade. No separate instruments were used for incision making and tunnel formation. AC entry and incision enlargement was done with the same keratome blade. 5.5-6 mm CCC was done with Utrata forceps. Nucleus was prolapsed out of bag after a gentle hydro-dissection. Nucleus delivery was done with the help of a Fish-Hook made from 26 G needle. Cortex wash was done with Simcoe’s I&A cannula. IOL was implanted in bag.
